Practice Areas

Dispute Resolution Through Negotiation, Mediation, Arbitration, and/or Trial

Over the course of approximately 38 years of law practice, I have handled almost all types of business-related disputes. It may be easier to list the kinds of disputes I have chosen not to handle: personal injury disputes, workers’ compensation disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, criminal law matters, and any kind of high volume, low stakes disputes. There are some areas of business disputes, however, in which I have had more experience than others. These are:

  • Any and all kinds of business-related contract disputes
  • Any kind of business tort disputes
  • Lender-borrower disputes
  • Significant employer-employee disputes
  • Shareholder and partnership disputes
  • Corporate governance disputes
  •  Noncompetition and nondisclosure covenant disputes
  • Intellectual property disputes
  • Construction disputes
  • Professional malpractice disputes
  • All types of sports related disputes, especially related to boxing and martial arts (representing fighters, managers, promoters, and any other parties involved)

Professional Sports Related Legal Issues

I have handled the resolution of many sports related disputes, but I have also handled many legal matters in the area of professional sports that did not involve, at least not initially, disputes, including, but not limited to:

  • Promotional contract review, negotiation, and restructuring
  • Management contract review, negotiation, and restructuring
  • Television and cablevision contract review, negotiation, and restructuring
  • Venue (arenas, hotels, etc.) contract review, negotiation, and restructuring
  • Sponsorship contract review, negotiation, and restructuring
  • Legal advice on liability avoidance related to sports events
